Recent Contributions to Arts & Culture in North Texas

BCA’s organizational mission is focused on effectively engaging the private sector to develop lasting relationships with arts-driven nonprofit groups. In keeping with the spirits of these efforts, Robert Dye, BCA Board Member and Chief Economist at Comerica, developed this analysis with BCA in support of donor engagement efforts by BCA. The report found:

  • The overall giving between contributing entity types in North Texas: Foundations & Trusts (70%), Businesses (23%), Government (6%), and Nonprofits (1%)

  • The arts in North Texas received more than $8.5 million in support from the businesses sector

  • $6.2 million in contributions were made by “ordinary’ North Texas businesses (i.e. businesses with a regional employment presence)

  • The median contribution by large-sized businesses (500+ employees) was $15,000

  • The median contribution by small-and medium-sized businesses (<500 employees) was $7,500
