Leadership Arts Institute
Applications Open for 2026-2027
Application Deadline: August 7, 2026
For more than 30 years, BCA’s Leadership Arts Institute has prepared business professionals to serve, lead, and strengthen the nonprofit arts sector. More than 1,500 graduates from 80+ North Texas companies have gone on to serve on arts boards across the region and the country.
Sessions run August 2026 through May 2027 and are held in person at nonprofit arts venues throughout Dallas, with topics ranging from board governance to arts advocacy to nonprofit financials — taught by the executive directors, board members, and industry leaders shaping the cultural sector today.
Who We Are
Celebrating 37 years of connecting commerce and culture in North Texas, Business Council for the Arts (BCA) has led nearly 1,500 business leaders through the prestigious Leadership Arts Institute program, with graduates now serving on more than 170 arts boards nationwide. With experience collaborating with nearly 500 North Texas arts nonprofits, BCA is striving to expand its reach with 150 member organizations and growing.
Through impactful programs, educational opportunities, and unique events, you can be a part of elevating business and the creative economy in North Texas.

We’re kicking off the 2026-2027 LAI Cohort with a lively networking event. For prospective LAI Applicants, learn more about everything you will get from the program, highlights from the 2026 LAI Class, and meet with LAI Alumni to get a peak of what LAI can do for you! You must apply for LAI or be Alumni to attend.

Arts & Health Annual Literary Event
This year’s Arts & Health Annual Literary Event brings together distinguished voices from medicine, higher education, and law to explore a timely and far‑reaching question: What is the role of a liberal arts education in shaping the leaders our world now requires?

OMOT Artwork Submission Deadline
Compete with professionals across North Texas for recognition and display at the NorthPark Center. Artwork and Literary submissions must be submitted by this deadline, where jurors will select the pieces that will go on display. We can’t wait to see what you will create!
