Arts Economic Prosperity Study
Business Council for the Arts is pleased to support Americans for the Arts (AFTA) in their Arts & Economic Prosperity Studies, conducted every 6 years and designed to measure the economic impact of nonprofit arts and cultural organizations across the United States. The most recent Arts & Economic Prosperity 6 (2023) was the eleventh impact study by BCA over the past 26 years, and the third consecutive one with AFTA.
2023
In 2023, BCA released findings from Arts & Economic Prosperity 6 (AEP6) for the North Texas region, an economic and social impact study of North Texas non-profit arts and culture organizations and their audiences. Completed in partnership with Americans for the Arts (AFTA), key findings revealed that during 2022, North Texas non-profit arts and culture organizations and their audiences:
• Generated $1.5 billion in economic activity
• $820 million in spending by the organizations, which leveraged an additional $685 million in event-related spending by their audiences
• Supported 25,174 jobs
• Generated $313 million in local, state, and federal government revenue.
