About Alicia Parham’s Works in the Dallas Arts Tower Gallery

Alicia is primarily a painter whose creative practice is rooted in color, experimental processes, and visual drama. These elements that have defined her work since childhood and continue to evolve alongside her curiosity and love of learning. Working primarily in oil paint and at large scale, her art explores the complexity of human experience through an intentionally imperfect hand, rejecting perfectionism in favor of the honest mark-making of an imperfect human.

Her current body of work emerged from a profound personal chapter. Following a 2021 diagnosis affecting her long-term eyesight, Alicia channeled the experience into an obsession with color perception and the subjectivity of sight. The collection reflects on challenge, transformation, and ultimately, artistic clarity.

Beyond her studio practice, Alicia teaches art to students ranging from preschool age through high school, bringing the same experimental spirit to her classroom that drives her own work.
