Elizabeth Van Vleck Bio

Associate Executive Director, Bruce Wood Dance

Elizabeth Van Vleck is a dynamic arts leader whose career began as a dancer and progressed into arts administration, most recently in North Texas. After a 15-year career in New York City as a professional performer, teacher, choreographer, and rehearsal director with organizations including New York City Ballet, National Dance Institute, and Shapiro & Smith Dance, she spent a decade as a private special-needs movement consultant for Italy’s Agnelli family, deepening her expertise in human development, individualized care, and high-net-worth client relations. After returning to the United States, she transitioned formally into arts management.

With a B.S. in Psychology and an M.F.A. in Arts Administration, Elizabeth moved to Los Angeles to serve as Operations and Production Manager/Associate Producer of Special Projects at the Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance at CalArts. In L.A., she also founded Making Art Happen, an arts consultancy serving dance companies such as Ate9 Dance, BODYTRAFFIC, and Diavolo | Architecture in Motion.

Since relocating to Dallas in 2014, she has been a driving force in the dance community, serving as Administrative Manager for the Dance Council of North Texas, Director of Development for TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND, and, for the past three years, Associate Executive Director of Bruce Wood Dance Dallas. In this role, she has helped guide the organization’s growth in programming, accessibility, touring, and operations—championing relationship-driven fundraising and sustainability while strengthening connections among artists, supporters, and the community.
