Arts & Healthcare

Healthcare industries in North Texas provide an economic impact of more than $52 billion per year, representing about 15 percent of all regional economic activity. That vigor is matched by the vigorous growth of the arts in our region. From 2010 to 2015, the economic impact of nonprofit arts and cultural organizations in North Texas gained three-fold, to $1.5 billion annually. This report by Business Council for the Art and the national organization, Americans for the Arts, is echoed by a Forbes article (February 2018) which declared: “… as Dallas keeps building outward and upward during the current economic boom, the smart money is on the arts and culture for the long run."  A chief goal of our arts and healthcare initiatives is to catalyze further integration of these two vital sectors.
