A Project of Business Council for the Arts,
Leadership Arts Class of 2017

Public ArtWalk Richardson is a free, self-guided art and nature walk promoting a healthy lifestyle through increased awareness and appreciation of public art in the City of Richardson. As the legacy project of the Leadership Arts Class of 2017, Public ArtWalk Dallas is the result of a ground-breaking partnership between the City of Richardson and Business Council for the Arts.

Why Art?

Public art is imperative for creating a culturally rich city and can become a community hub that pays homage the neighborhood’s diverse population and vibrant culture. The City of Richardson's Public Art Master Plan includes careful selection of public art projects that reinforce the city’s design character, express the identity of Richardson’s neighborhoods, embrace the city’s diversity, and display Richardson’s history.

Why Walk?

With flexible starting locations, this 2.8-mile route makes art accessible to all demographics and ages. It’s free. There are no tickets. You don’t have to dress up to see it (sneakers are encouraged!). You can go as many times as you would like. You can visit it alone or in groups. It is open to everyone.

Public ArtWalk Richardson’s inaugural map will be unveiled this summer at a private reception with the Richardson City Council. 10,000 initial copies of the map are planned to be printed for distribution, and the City of Richardson will make the map available for download online.
