Organization of the Month:  KERA’s Art&Seek

Art&Seek’s web site, www.artandseek.org, celebrates its first birthday on May 28 and it has been quite a year. The site is part of the Art&Seek initiative, a service from KERA public broadcasting for North Texas. With help from more than 1,600 arts organizations and venues in KERA’s listening area – and, hopefully, from you -- Art&Seek is building a community online where creative people can come together to find, discuss, create and react to art. Together, we’re creating a new media model for arts coverage.

You will find plenty to keep you informed at artandseek.org:

  • Search more than 1,400 events on the Art&Seek calendar.  If it’s happening in the arts, you’ll find it here, from arts jobs and opportunities, to theater, dance and popular music. The calendar is a free listing service that any arts group or venue can use to spread the word about their events.
  • Stay up to date with the daily Round-Up from the Art&Seek blog team and join discussions with guest bloggers. Watch videos, listen to music podcasts from Paul Slavens, host of 90.1 at Night, hear KERA radio reports and read Jerome Weeks’ reviews in Featured Content.   Keep up with national stories using the NPR Arts Headlines link.  Get an insider’s look at the creative process when you take the Artist Studio Tour
  • Meet artists and newsmakers on the Art&Seek Q/A.  See the best images from North Texas amateurs and pros and enter your own shots in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest.

Support Art&Seek by clicking on the Donate Now button at artandseek.org. For a limited time, KERA board member Donna Wilhelm will match all online contributions to artandseek.org, dollar-for-dollar, up to $1,000. Help support a digital community for the arts in North Texas.   Art&Seek constantly adds new features, welcomes your feedback and invites your organization to participate. Contact artandseek@kera.org.
